Antique zinc shop sign of a hat maker. A French trade sign circa 1900 – 1920. It’s a very large red top hat with a feather on top. Hand-crafted and hand-painted in red.  Real craftsmanship – the brim is completely curled.  This XXL trade sign – shop sign – facade sign was made as advertising sign for a shop specialised in making hats. From far away in the street you could see there was a hat maker located as it was placed outside on the facade.  The original metal bracket is no longer with this hat trade sign – L’enseigne de chapelier. The black wooden one you see on the pictures is to demonstrate this spectacular advertising object. It’s a spectacular decorative object with beautiful patina and traces by age in the meantime.
